ReVision Implant successfully closed its first seed funding round in June 2020. It has attracted the attention of experienced technology entrepreneurs and investors from the Flanders region in Belgium. Due to their input, our excellent collaboration with KU Leuven university and support from the Flemish government we are able to pursue our research program on neurostimulation of the visual cortex using high-electrode count electrode arrays. This will form the necessary basis for a revolutionary visual prosthesis. Furthermore, ReVision is aided by top-notch, highly experienced advisors in technical, strategic, IP-related and legal matters. ReVision builds further upon earlier academic research projects sponsored by the European Research Council (ERC) and the Flemish government. ReVision has also received funding from the HORIZON EIC Pathfinder Grant under grant agreement No101071015. The EIC is an extremely competitive funding scheme with an acceptance ratio of only about 2%.
Seed funding for the company was provided by investment companies such as Dagda Ventures, Boo services and private investements from several well-known Flemish entrepreneurs such as Guido Van Herpe, Johan Van den Bossche and Anne and Françoise Santens.
